King Mohammed VI of Morocco met with U.S President Barack Obama at the White House to discuss improving Morocco's economy . This is the first time they have ever met. Our two countries have had a good relationship going back to 1777, when Morocco was the first country to give the US a naval salute. There is a free trade agreement already in place between our countries. Others from Morocco are traveling with the King on this trip. One key person is Moulay Hafid Elalamy, who is Morocco's new Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment, and Digital Economy. He hopes to get the US to invest in Morocco.

I think It is very beneficial to both countries that the U.S and Morocco are allies. This is beneficial for trade and recourse purposes. I also observed that the U.S extended the invitation to meet with Morocco so the relationship is mutual and both countries are willing to help each other out for a better future. i will be curious to see if the untied States investment in morocco increases as a result of the meeting.
